It’s not possible. They run their application through WIFI. It’s not a phone.
March 7, 2011 at 6:33 am
Jillian,
If you have an iPod Touch without WIFI then you do not have connection to the Internet and it is IMPOSSIBLE to make it work.
You need connection to the Internet for Textfree to work.

Hey Pinger,
Maybe you can make Textfree Voice able
to use Bluetooth Headset.
If you can that would be great! π

iLOVE this app and iAppreciate the creators and every other person that has anything to do with it. But iHave one noticed Pinger has a hard time accepting calls while music is playing, it would be WONDERFUL if they could update the app so that when we receive an incoming call it’ll switch off the music instead of making us miss the call.

I am about to lose my mind. Where I live I don’t get cell reception and I’m trying to send an important text to a friend. I cannot get Textfree to work for me and I’ve been searching online for awhile.
When I click on my contact name, it just says I need a headset as if I’m going to use the voice chat. I see no way to actually send a text message and it’s making me feel like a complete idiot.
If someone could please tell me in simple terms that a 3 year-old could understand, how do you use this text app to send a text? Thank you in advance!

I believe you click the little plus and then type in the number.

when you open textfree with voice, up top you should see a star, clock, contact book, and keypad symbols. then over a little more you should see two circle thingys and what looks to be a paper and pencil. click the paper and pencil and then either type in the number or click one of your contacts. then it should open up to where to see the keypad. RIGHT ABOVE the keypad there’s a white strip in between a camera and smiley face and the send button. click the white space and start typing when done push send and your good….
hope i was able to help you π

how can i see my friends from facebook on the app,,or message them.?
May 10, 2011 at 7:53 pm
i have the same question?
September 24, 2011 at 9:56 am
if you updated the app. when you open textfree with voice, up top you should see a star, clock, contact book, and keypad symbols. Click the contact book and if your setup right and you have friend online(on facebook) they should be listed.
if your not hooked up to allow facebook chat go to the settings the two little circle thingys and it should say account info, tell your friends your number, and facebook chat….click facebook chat and go online π
hope i was able to help

I Felt That It Would Really Help All Of Us Ipod Users Nationwide And Help Get Better Ratings For the App If You Guys Not Only Were Able To Make The Music From Your Ipod As A Ringtone , But Not Only From Your Music App From Other Downloaded Music Apps From Where You Can Just Choose A Song. By The Way I love TextFree With Voice ! THE VERY BEST HELPFUL PHONE APP WORLD WIDE!

Hey there! Thanks for helping out other users on the blog π
On the main screen, you can delete entire recent conversations by swiping the conversation to the right. A “delete” button should pop-up; clicking this button will allow you to delete! If you still have problems, email support@pinger.com and our team will help you out!
