Make sure your device rings when you get a text or call
by enabling notifications for Pinger!
What is a Notification?
Pinger uses Apple’s Push Notification Service to send you alerts when you are outside of the app. Your device will show you a pop-up (and usually play a sound) to let you know that a new message has arrived.
Why don’t I get Notifications?
When you first set up Pinger we asked if it’s ok to alert you about new messages. Sometimes users decline the option by mistake (you aren’t alone, we’ve accidentally done it too). This is the most common reason that people don’t get Notifications.
How do I turn Notifications on?
You’ll need to go into the settings of your iOS device to turn Notifications back on. We have a couple of helpful tips below, and detailed instructions plus screen shots can be found on this Support page.
- Make sure you’re using iOS 4.0 or later and have the latest version of Pinger.
- Turn your ringer volume ALL the way up while IN the app.
- Is your device jailbroken? Sorry, notifications won’t work!

Hi everybody. I really need help, especially from Pinger. My itouch broke 1 and a half months ago and I couldn’t use it anymore. After little bit over a month, I got a brands new itouch. When I signed in with my email it said that Pinger gave my number to someone else. I don’t think that was fair because between the 30 days I wasnt just sitting around with my itouch not using Textfree/Pinger, I was waiting to get a new itouch and when I did, my number was given away! I used Textfree so much and I loved it. All of my friends use it. But now, loosing my number, I realized that it wasn’t because I wasnt just letting Pinger gather dust on the shelf, I was doing the opposite, desperately waiting for my new itouch, so I could start using Pinger again but I guess that chance has come short.

Hi Jack! So sorry about your iPod touch. We do let you know via your registered email that your number is going to expire ahead of the 30 day limit (it’s in our terms & conditions too). I have been using Pinger/TextFree since March 2012 to text my loved ones in the Philippines and the UK and it worked perfectly fine. It made me very happy to have discovered this app. Then 2 days ago, it just doesn’t work anymore. The messages I send seem to be sent, but the supposed recipients in those 2 countries just don’t get the messages anymore. Have texts to these countries been disabled by Pinger? A response will be greatly appreciated and I pray that you allow texts to the Philippines and UK again. Thank you.

i had pinger two then my ipad stopped working and i couldn’t use it i was very sad i loved texting my friends and loved ones when i finally got it back it said i no longer had my number and i had to get a new one i think that was very unfair and i couldn’t check my emails to know what happened i was very disapointed i wish they would change that. why dosent pinger just let us keep our numbers? :[

Actually, if your number has expired, you guys don’t need to create a new account to get a new number. Just email support@pinger.com & our team will walk you through how to get a number without getting a new account!

Hey there! Sorry about your situtation, but numbers are very expensive. So if yours is inactive for a while, we give it to someone who will really use it! We let you know before it expires via email (that’s why it’s important to use a real email address at sign up!).

Soo im trying to log into Pinger ad once i did,, it’s only showing half a screen icant see what im writing and icant see what im sending,, but ican see other people who messages me what they typed! ialready tried refreshing the page multiple times and exiting out and logging back in !! Sorry about that! Pinger recycles inactive phone numbers. Someone must not have informed their contacts that they gave up their Pinger number

I used to use textfree. Whenever I got a text, it would put the profile of the sender on the “home page”. Now I use Pinger Ex but it doesn’t do that anymore. Is there a way I can make it do that again?

When I activated my account with pinger it told me to input a number and I’ll be getting a call to press 1. I tried using my own phone but it didn’t work. I used my friend’s phone instead. I keep getting his texts that people send him. But I was wondering if I can get his texts can he get mine from my pinger number?

Hello
My Pinger stopped working on my Iphone. Everything else on my phone works perfectly except Pinger. So I deleted it and tried to reload it. It will not even complete the install process. When it ask for a country it keeps saying there is no internet, but my internet is working fine and has plenty of upload and download speed, so that is not the problem.
