Make sure your device rings when you get a text or call
by enabling notifications for Pinger!

What is a Notification?
Pinger uses Apple’s Push Notification Service to send you alerts when you are outside of the app. Your device will show you a pop-up (and usually play a sound) to let you know that a new message has arrived.

Why don’t I get Notifications?
When you first set up Pinger we asked if it’s ok to alert you about new messages. Sometimes users decline the option by mistake (you aren’t alone, we’ve accidentally done it too). This is the most common reason that people don’t get Notifications.

How do I turn Notifications on?
You’ll need to go into the settings of your iOS device to turn Notifications back on. We have a couple of helpful tips below, and detailed instructions plus screen shots can be found on this Support page.

  • Make sure you’re using iOS 4.0 or later and have the latest version of Pinger.
  • Turn your ringer volume ALL the way up while IN the app.
  • Is your device jailbroken? Sorry, notifications won’t work!

A Pinger employee noticed some exciting activity as they went past the office this weekend…

Sure enough, we arrived Monday morning to see our brand new Pinger sign outside.
What a great start to the week!

Today was a very historic day for Pinger.
It was the first ever PJ (that’s “pajama”) Day for our headquarters in San Jose, CA!

Things started out great:

But after lunch…

Must have been all those late nights making apps!

Yesterday, employees at Pinger Headquarters headed outside with some handy dandy Eclipse Shades to watch the transit of Venus.

Venus passed in front of the sun and said “hi!”  We all shouted back “hello!”  She’ll be back again in December 2117.

In retrospect, we should have let her know about our apps. Woulda made her think twice about taking that long trip again just to say “Hi”…

Today our Pinger employees from San Jose, CA are headed down to our Santa Barbara office for a meeting of the minds!

Wave if you see their bus pass you!

Pinger employees like to work hard and play hard, and this Friday was no exception. Everyone in the office took a break after work (and overcame their friggatriskaidekaphobia) to play some bocce!

Teams were selected at random from our prized Sharks hat, and competition was fierce. When inches count, tape measures were unholstered to see who was closest to the pallino (the little metal ball … it’s complicated.)

We’re pretty serious about our bocce, apparently.

Winners got trophies plus bragging rights, and everyone had a great (perhaps a bit rowdy) time.

Want to be part of our next adventure? We are hiring!

Hey Pinger fans!

Wondering how to copy, forward, or delete a single text?

Just tap and hold the message in the text bubble. A menu will pop up with the options “Copy,” “Forward” and “Delete,” just like in the screen shot on the right. To paste something you’ve copied, tap where you’d like to paste if you’re on iOS, or tap and hold if you’re on Android, and a menu will pop up.
